** Buckley's Tavern 5812 Kennett Pike - Route 52, Centreville, DE; (302) 656-9776.  Popular restaurant and bar in historic village.  Casual atmosphere, wonderful food.  Exceptional wine and beer selections.  Outdoor dining on the roof terrace (seasonal).  A Delaware Landmark!  Daily: L-$$, D-$$$.  Casual Dress, 5 minutes from Longwood Bed & Breakfast Inn..  Can be very busy and lively on the weekends.  Ask about the wine 'special arrangements'.

The Orchard 503 Orchard Avenue, Kennett Square, Pa; (610) 388-1100.  The softly lighted dining room has clean, fresh contemporary lines.  Chef Howard’s American-International cuisine is well-dressed comfort food in an eclectic fusion. Mendenhall Inn Rt. 52, Mendenhall, PA: (610) 388-1181.  Located in the heart of the Brandywine Valley in a 1796 Mill, this award winning restaurant specializes in Crab Imperial, Prime Rib and Game Fowl.  L, D - $$$$.  Jacket requested in dining room.  Upscale casual-tavern room.  2 minutes from Longwood Bed & Breakfast Inn.
**Luigi Vitrone's Pastabilities 415 N. Lincoln St., Wilmington, DE: (302) 656-9822.  "Delaware Today Magazine" said that Luigi's "Claim to fame" is romance for the eyes, the palate, and that you will forget that you are in Wilmington.  The setting is cozy, a softly lighted charming restaurant with three small dining rooms counting eight tables.  They could not decide the best dish they had but elected that the homemade pasta and fresh seafood along with my milk fed veal were sure bets. Simon Pearce on the Brandywine Rt. 52, Lenape, PA: (610) 793-0948.  Enjoy creative American cuisine with Irish accents served and presented on Simon Pearce handcrafted dinnerware and glassware here on our Brandywine River site.  Very good food and service in the restaurant, gift shop and small museum on glassblowing. Order from the menu or there is a great fixed price meal that includes delicious appetizer, main course and a yummy dessert.
